GI-NI researchers Emilie Rademakers and Ulrich Zierahn-Weilage have recently published an open-access paper in the ‘The Econosmists’ Voice’ journal based on the work they have carried out in the project.
The text is an invitation to consider the impacts that technological transformation is already having on European labour markets and to adapt public policies accordingly. As the adoption of new technologies occurs more rapidly in larger firms, inequalities among workers and firms are emerging. In response, the authors propose a series of policy recommendations, including continued investment in education and skill development in a way that benefits all actors, not just early adopters and high achievers, and the promotion of flexibility and mobility in labour markets.
